Integrative Developmental Biology at ETSU

EXPECTATIONS for Participating Students

You must be present for the entire 10-week duration of the program. You will be expected to participate fully in all laboratory work necessary and in all scheduled parts of the program.  Most of your time will be spent in the laboratory working on your project, but the scheduled meetings for introductory material, discussions, workshops, and seminars are a very important part of this research experience.  The last day of the program will include your presentation of your findings at our annual Undergraduate Summer Life Sciences Symposium, hosted by the Quillen College of Medicine.  We will expect you to communicate with us about any issues or concerns that might interfere with your participation or your ability to benefit fully from this program.

We also will regularly seek your input about the pace of the programs and upcoming scheduled events.  You will be working directly with faulty mentors on your project, as well as interacting with other undergraduate and graduate research students. Our REU group will meet regularly to share workshops and progress updates,  address questions, and discuss our findings.

If you should have questions, please contact: Dr. Rebecca Pyles (pylesr@etsu.edu, 423-439-6077) OR Dr. James Stewart (stewarjr@etsu.edu, 423-439-6927).
