The Student-Faculty Collaborative Grant Program
is specially designed to support undergraduate research activities
on the ETSU campus. The ETSU Office of Sponsored Research
provides funds annually, and the University Honors Programs Office
administers the grant awards process. This exceptional
program has supported over 60 research projects since its inception
in 1995. With support from this program, ETSU undergraduates
have presented results of their research at national, international,
and regional professional meetings and have published their research
in scholarly journals.
Undergraduate students and their faculty mentors
are invited each October to submit grant proposals requesting
funds to support a research project. Appropriate experts
from academic departments across campus review proposals and
make recommendations. Funds may be requested for costs
of supplies and/or travel (no stipends); the maximum amount currently
awarded for a single grant is $1,000.
