Amount of Award: $11,500 plus payment of tuition and standard fees to the student's graduate school

U.S. and Canadian seniors or recent graduates are eligible to apply for 100-125 Mellon Fellowships awarded annually.

Applicants must be able to present evidence of outstanding academic promise and interest in a career of teaching and scholarship.

Students seeking a Ph.D. in the traditional humanities disciplines, including history, are eligible, however students interested in the creative and performing arts or social sciences, education, law or social work are not eligible.

Two years of foreign language study may be provided.

PROCEDURE

Applicants must be nominated by a faculty member and packages are due to the Chairman of the Region no later than November.
