IMPORTANT BENEFITS ANNOUNCEMENT FROM HUMAN RESOURCES

Update on Flexible Benefits Accounts/1Point Solutions

The Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR ) has signed an agreement with Fringe Benefits Management Company (FBMC) for administration of our Flexible Medical and Dependent Care spending accounts for the rest of this calendar year (accommodating all of the present participants in 1Point Solutions) and for the next two years.  TBR is working with FBMC staff to get present employee accounts transferred and into their system.  It appears that it will be at least 2 weeks after the employee accounts are established before individual claims can be submitted for this year. Please continue to document your expenses and save your receipts. 

FBMC will be sending out enrollment material to sign up for 2007 during the 10/16/06 to 11/15/06 annual enrollment period.  The employee handbook and enrollment form from FBMC will be distributed to you as soon as they are available.  In the interim, electronic versions of the enrollment material will be placed on the Human Resources website during this annual enrollment period.

If any present participants in the Flexible Medical and Dependent Care plans have had 1Point Solutions checks returned by their bank,  ETSU is authorized to reimburse employees for those returned checks as well as any documented returned check charge that the employee’s bank would not remove.  Employees should bring the returned check and/or debit advice to the payroll office for processing the reimbursement.

In addition, we are now processing emergency claims for present participants in dependent care accounts only.  Please contact the payroll office for further information.
