Board Members present: President Bill Fisher, Joan Dressel, George Granger, Barbara Humphrys, Bill Miller, and Dorman Stout. Also present: Donna Williams (sitting in for Diana McClay). Betty Moore, Willene Paxton, and Betty Tester had conveyed their absence to the Board.
President Bill Fisher presided. No formal business was transacted because of a lack of a quorum. Several items were discussed:
1. Handouts provided by President Fisher were reviewed. A discussion concerning a meeting of ETSURA and UTRA was held (meeting to possibly be held in October). Also discussed were retiree advocacy groups, the TCRS board adding a retired teacher, and insurance policies not needed.
2. Changes to the membership form and the introduction letter to new retirees were discussed.
3. A synopsis of the 2004 picnic was distributed and a request for the same information was made for the 2003 picnic for comparison purposes.
4. A discussion concerning changing the quorum requirements arose. A request was made to place this item on the agenda for the August 31, 2004 meeting.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, August 31, at 3:30 p.m. in University Advancement’s conference room.
