College of Business and Technology – Department of Accountancy – Lecturer.  The department of Accountancy seeks applicants for a one-year position. Department of Art & Design – Assistant Professor Graphic Design – Full-time, Tenure-track Position –Position Contingent Upon State Funding - Starting date for employment is August 2008.  Review of applicants will begin January 15, 2008 and will continue until the position is filled. College of Arts and Sciences - Department of Geosciences - Chair (Associate or Full Professor) - Position Contingent upon State Funding. The East Tennessee State University College of Arts and Sciences is planning to create a new Department of Geosciences. The proposed Department of Geosciences will consist of thirteen faculty drawn from existing Geography and Geology programs. It will offer undergraduate majors in Geology and Geography and plans to offer a multi-tracked masters degree in Geosciences. Current research interests of the faculty include environmental geology, GIS and remote sensing, natural hazards, paleontology and urban geography. We are seeking a dynamic individual who will chair the new department and provide both leadership and direction. Applicants should be qualified to hold a tenured appointment at ETSU. Research area is open, but preference will be given to applicants whose interests complement those of the current faculty. ETSU is located in the beautiful southern Appalachian Mountains, serves some 13,000 students and offers nearly 200 programs of study in ten colleges and schools. East Tennessee State University, Department of Psychology, invites applications for three tenure-track Assistant Professor positions in COGNITIVE/BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE, COMMUNITY/HEALTH/CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY and   CLINICAL/PRIMARY CARE PSYCHOLOGY, to begin August 15, 2008.  For the COGNITIVE/BEHAVIORAL NEUROSCIENCE position, we are most interested in candidates capable of contributing to or expanding ongoing research activities within the department and collaborations with the medical school. Capability of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in cognition, perception, or behavioral neuroscience is a plus.  Researchers in “translational” cognitive science or behavioral neuroscience are especially encouraged to apply.  For the HEALTH/COMMUNITY/CLINICAL position, we are most interested in candidates with training and experience that will contribute to the development of an innovative Ph.D. program in Translational Experimental Psychology, AND to our existing Ph.D. program in Clinical/Primary Care Psychology.  Preference will be given to applicants with specialty areas in health psychology, community psychology, clinical psychology, or similar areas, with research interests in translational research in, for example, the area of mental health. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in building community collaborations and conducting health services research/public health research who would be interested in engaging those activities in rural Appalachia.  For the CLINICAL/PRIMARY CARE position, specialty area is open, but preference will be given to candidates with expertise and research interests in adult behavioral health or adult primary care psychology.  Clinical applicants (for the latter two positions) must have completed an APA accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology and an APA accredited pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship by 12/31/08 – Tennessee HSP license-eligibility preferred, with eventual licensure expected.  Non-clinical applicants (for the first two positions) must possess or be very near completing the Ph.D.  Throughout the hiring processes, the department looks for evidence of candidates’ abilities to contribute to collegiality and good will within our thriving department. Currently, the Department of Psychology at ETSU comprises 13 full-time faculty and is in the first year of its clinical Ph.D. training program in rural primary care psychology.
