College of Nursing – Office of Research – Clinical Research Manager – Level 14 – 502600 – Position contingent upon grant funding. Essential Functions: Coordinate and facilitate all aspects of clinical trials implemented by Principal Investigators at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Mountain Home and other hospital or clinic sites. Perform complex and comprehensive clinical trials; participate in the planning, development, budget monitoring and implementation of assigned clinical trials; engage in problem solving to include clinical research agreements and regulatory institutional assurance requirements; communicate good clinical practices to interdisciplinary personnel; and ensure compliance with multiple regulatory guidelines. Design, implement, evaluate and maintain a quality assurance and tracking process for College of Nursing Faculty Practice clinics. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s preferred) and Registered Nurse; certification as CCRA or experience in clinical trials; minimum 5 years in nursing to include clinical trial experience; current Tennessee RN License or eligible to be licensed in TN. Quillen College of Medicine - Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences - TennCare Center of Excellence (COE) for Children in State Custody - Specialist (Mental Health Clinician) - Level 9. Full-time position. Contingent upon grant funding. Essential Functions: Participating as part of a multidisciplinary team providing direct clinical service and consultation including reviewing records, completing clinical evaluations, clinical interviews, developing and writing evaluation reports in a timely manner, assisting with service coordination and follow-up procedures for children in or at risk of custody. Other training duties or special projects as assigned by the director. Qualifications: minimum of a master’s degree in a mental health discipline required, TN licensure in the mental health specialty relevant to the mental health degree (i.e., MSW, LPC, LMFT, SPE, and psychologist). Three years of mental health clinical experience. Previous experience with children’s mental health and child welfare populations preferred. College of Arts and Sciences - Department of Appalachian Studies - Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Program – Recording Laboratory Manager – Level 9 – 241490. REVISED and RE-ADVERTISED. Beginning date January 1, 2010, twelve-month, professional staff position. Essential functions: Supervise use and maintenance of the recording laboratory and all associated equipment; operate sound reinforcement equipment for large and small venues, including student band performances; develop and teach courses in the recording arts and operation of live sound reinforcement equipment. Secondary functions: Represent Bluegrass, Old Time and Country Music Program, the Department of Appalachian Studies, CASS and University by supervising student public performances, by advising students during orientation sessions, and performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; five years professional experience (preferred) in at least one of the following areas: high-level professional sound reinforcement; engineering; and/or record production. Finance and Administration – Facilities Management – Director of Campus Planning – Level 14 – 132120. Essential Functions: Position reports to the Associate Vice President for Facilities Management, Planning and Construction, and indirectly to the Chief Operating Office and is responsible for all planning, programming and central space management activities. Position is the primary contact for all space allocation requests including renovations. Position is responsible for maintaining a computerized database for all campus space, and works with Registrar to maintain accurate classroom data. Position is responsible for all master planning activities and assists the Deans and Vice President’s on all master planning related work. Qualifications: BS or BA degree in architecture, planning or related area required. Master’s degree in planning and related licensure in planning would be helpful. Minimum five years experience in planning, preferably in Higher Education, required. Knowledge of planning, architectural design, engineering principles, construction practices, capital budgeting required. Advanced presentation, organization, and communication skills required. Ability to maintain a computerized campus data base, spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint preferred). Valid TN Driver License required. Facilities employees may be required to report to their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties. Quillen College of Medicine – Department of Pharmacology – Postdoctoral Fellow - Position contingent upon grant funding. The Department of Pharmacology at the Quillen College of Medicine at ETSU is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position to study cellular oxygen-sensing in the cardiovascular system. The NIH funded project will focus on defining the molecular basis of heart cell phenotype in ischemic heart disease. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in molecular biology and/or cardiovascular physiology. The position represents a good opportunity for someone versed in cardiovascular physiology to gain experience in molecular and imaging techniques, or visa versa; a molecular biologist to establish experience with cardiovascular physiology. A Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree is required. East Tennessee State University is located in one of the nation’s most beautiful regions, just north of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Position available to study the role of extracellular proteins in pathogenesis of heart failure. The work will involve investigation of the molecular mechanisms of cardiac myocyte apoptosis. It is a Class A misdemeanor to misrepresent academic credentials. A person commits the offense of misrepresentation of academic credentials who, knowing that the statement is false and with the intent to secure employment at or admission to an institution of higher education in Tennessee, represents, orally or in writing that such person:
(1) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from an accredited institution of higher education;
(2) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from a particular institution of higher education; or
(3) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas in a particular field or specialty from an accredited institution of higher education.
