College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health – Department of Communicative Disorders - Assistant/ Associate Professor, Speech- Language Pathology. Full-time, tenure track, 12-month position. Qualifications include: Ph.D. (ABD considered), CCC-SLP, eligibility for Tennessee state licensure, evidence of research activity and potential, commitment to effective classroom teaching. Specialty and interests preferred but not limited to the following (1) Assistant/Associate Professor with interests preferred but not limited to some of the following: (a) adult neurogenics, (b) dysphagia and other feeding issues, and/or (c) school-age language, literacy, and learning differences. Responsibilities include: instruction, development of an ongoing research program and pursuit of funding opportunities. Additional duties include clinical supervision, direction of student research and graduate advising. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Research and collaborate opportunities are available with the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine, VA Medical Center, local ENT practice, and community- based interdisciplinary rural health-care programs. ETSU is a comprehensive teaching and research university with an enrollment of 13,000 students. The Department of Communicative Disorders is an established graduate-only program that offers an M.S. degree in speech-language pathology and an AuD. degree in audiology. College of Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences - Department of Communicative Disorders - Research Associate/Speech Language Pathologist. Full-time, temporary position with full benefits. Essential Functions: Participation in all aspects of NIH-NIDCD funded research project, including, but not limited to: recruitment, administration of the research protocol, data collection and management, and organization of the lab. Additional duties include supervision of graduate students in ETSU clinical placements that provide speech and language assessment and treatment for children with communication disorders. In addition to activities related to mentoring and evaluating students, clinical responsibilities include assessment and treatment of clients and ensuring that clinical documentation requirements are met. Qualifications: Masters degree in speech language pathology from an accredited university, CCC-SLP and TN License. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and function effectively as a team member. The successful candidate will have communication and interpersonal skills consistent with the leadership role; the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English; a commitment to faculty development and mentorship for teaching, research, scholarship, and practice; and demonstrated leadership ability. A minimum of five years in nursing education with experience at the baccalaureate level, and a doctorate in nursing or related field with a graduate degree in nursing are required. It is a Class A misdemeanor to misrepresent academic credentials. A person commits the offense of misrepresentation of academic credentials who, knowing that the statement is false and with the intent to secure employment at or admission to an institution of higher education in Tennessee, represents, orally or in writing that such person:
(1) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from an accredited institution of higher education;
(2) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas from a particular institution of higher education; or
(3) Has successfully completed the required course work for and has been awarded one (1) or more degrees or diplomas in a particular field or specialty from an accredited institution of higher education.
