EXPECTATIONS

potential; DEFINITION Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed
in preventive maintenance and repair on standard office equipment and performing
related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED - Repairs and maintains a preventive maintenance program on office equipment such as typewriters, duplicators, transcribing and dictating units and calculators. - Researches and maintains a library on parts and engineering changes. - Orders parts and maintains parts inventory. - Writes work orders and keeps history records of service required. - Orders typewriters and installs as required. - Performs other work as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of procedures and practices involved in repairing office machinery. - Knowledge of the equipment, machinery, tools, and materials used in repairing equipment. - Knowledge of basic electronics. - Ability to perform repairs and preventive maintenance work on office machinery. - Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions. - Ability to use equipment, machinery and tools involved in repairing office machinery. - Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship
with other employees.
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for
success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications
should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable
them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high
school. Completion of a course of study involving mechanical and basic
electronic courses at a trade or technical school. Experience in small
mechanical equipment repair.

OFFICE MAIL CARRIER
DEFINITION Employees in this class are under close supervision. Work performed
in handling the mail coming into a department or building, delivering outgoing
mail to campus post office or business office and performing related work
as required.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED - Picks up or receives mail, sorts as to individual or office, and stamps each piece with date stamp. - Delivers mail to proper place. - Sorts outgoing mail as to first class or campus mail and delivers to campus post office or business office for postage. - Unpacks large shipments, checks contents against invoice, and delivers to proper place as needed. - Performs other work as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES - Knowledge of departmental mail regulations and procedures. - Ability to lift light to heavy weights. - Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. - Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship
with the other employees.
