Function of Position

 

This position is responsible to the Associate Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for the execution of and overall management of projects approved by the TAF committee including Innovative Projects, lab replacements and multimedia classroom construction.  Additionally, this position is responsible for the daily maintenance of the multimedia classrooms.  Other projects are assigned within OIT that have specific project management or audiovisual needs.  This position serves as the liaison between departments receiving TAF projects and other departments required for project completion (e.g. Physical Plant).  Oversees the compliance of TAF expenditures to TBR guidelines.  Project management here includes scheduling, communication, ordering and receipt of equipment, inventory of equipment, scheduling installation of equipment, ordering and installation of furniture, working with other departments to schedule work including renovations, and testing and finalizing installations.

 

Essential Functions

 

-        Manages the classroom renovation/installation projects.

-        Manages the lab replacement projects yearly.

-        Manages the innovative project execution yearly or as allocated.

-        Maintains the daily operation (maintenance and repair) of multimedia classrooms.

-        Oversees compliance of TAF expenditures to TBR guidelines

 

Secondary Functions

 

-        Ensures timely repair of equipment.

-        Prepares reports on TAF budgets and expenditures for submission to TBR.

-        Orders and takes receipts of equipment.

-        Maintains inventory of TAF equipment.

-        Interacts with departments for Help Desk tickets.

-        Assists with and participates in exit interview for the regularly scheduled TAF audits.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

-        Ability to organize and pay attention to detail.

-        Knowledge of lab software and configuration, AV equipment, classroom operation.

-        Ability to troubleshoot for PCs, printers, digital video equipment.

-        Knowledge of the purchasing process and policies.

-        Knowledge of basic accounting and budget.     

 

Supervision Given and Received

 

Performs under general supervision.  Plans and arranges own work which is directed toward an established objective.  Supervises classified employees.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; 3 years of experience; PMP License preferred.
