Position Title:  Senior Personal Computer Analyst

Function of Position

 

This position’s primary function is to coordinate and oversee PC Maintenance for the University; oversee all PC maintenance support services; direct the repair of over 4000 personal computers and over 2000 peripherals at all University locations; assist in the establishment of departmental operational policies, procedures, standards, etc; supervises PC maintenance staff and student workers.

 

Essential Functions

 

-        Coordinates and performs repairs of personal computers and peripherals for the University

-        Troubleshoots any and all computer/peripheral related problems.

-        Orders and tracks parts for the repairs of computer and peripheral equipment.

-        Supervises part-time employee and student workers.

-        Manages warranty repairs and reimbursements for the computers.

-        Miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned.

  

Secondary Functions

 

-        Coordinates and manages repair of MEAC personal computers/contract.

-        Performs User Service Manager Duties in absence of Manager.

-        Manages and consolidates PC Maintenance budget/account.

-        Performs User Service Manager Duties in absence of Manager

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge and Abilities

 

-        Knowledge of a variety of computer hardware and operating systems.

-        Knowledge of a variety of software programs.

-        Ability to manage.

-        Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at all times.

-        Ability to troubleshoot PC/peripheral/networking problems.

 

Supervision Given and Received

 

Performs under general supervision.  Plans and arranges own work which is directed toward an established objective. 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree Computer Science or other related field; training in PC hardware; 3-5 years experience; Dell Certification for PC hardware repair.
