Function of Position

Responsible to the Assistant Director, Scholarships, for assisting with all aspects of Scholarship Office and awarding of Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) program; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

-        Counsels students and parents.

-        Maintains scholarship database.

-        Assists with record keeping aspects of TELS.

-        Presents information on scholarships and TELS to various audiences.

Secondary Functions

-        Assists in oversight of scholarship selection process.

-        Produces data regarding university scholarships.

-        Assists with production of scholarship brochure and other documents.

-        Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities

-        Knowledge of computers and related software programs.

-        Ability to communicate effectively.

-        Ability to maintain a comprehensive database.

Supervision Given and Received

Performs under general supervision.  Determines own methods of performing assigned work. 

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; experience working in Word, Excel, Access or other database  management software required; verbal, written and presentation skills required; experience with student information system (SIS) preferred.
