Function of Position
Advises and recruits students for all BSN, MSN, DSN and certification
programs.
Essential Functions
-
Provides academic and personal advisement for prospective and enrolled BSN
students and other undergraduate and graduate students as needed.

Monitors academic progress of students as they move toward application.
-
Develops and provides students with a program of study, outlines general
education requirements as appropriate and assists students in the interpretation
of pertinent transfer credits.

Assists
students with procedures related to registration and verifies major course
requirements completion needed for degree candidates.
-
Provides students with information regarding advanced standing options, GRE
testing information, financial aid and scholarships.
-
Coordinates programs and events, including Orientation and Welcome, Homecoming,
and University Orientation.

Develops and maintains effective relationships with community colleges and
agencies to foster program growth.

Recruits for all BSN and graduate programs at colleges and universities, and
local and regional health care agencies.

Interviews prospective students for enrollment at ETSU, providing program
overview, criteria for admission and unofficial evaluation of transfer credit as
appropriate.

Develops and implements recruitment plan.

Establishes and enhances recruitment policies and procedures.
-
Manages
recruiting tools.
-
Designs, updates and maintains recruiting materials.
-
Streamlines and manages information request and recruitment process.
-
Creates
and mains online recruitment system, i.e., allnursingschools.com, and ventures
program-Undergraduate Minority Recruitment tool.
-
Assists
in retention initiatives and recruitment.
-
Coordinates Job Shadowing requests and evaluations.
-
Coordinates Nursing Summer Residency Program.
-
Assists
in Graduate Minority Recruitment Invitational Program.
-
Facilitates agreements in collaboration with MSN/DSN Program Coordinator.
-
Proposes non-traditional program offerings and course schedules.
-
Coordinates admission of students to Traditional BSN and Graduate programs and
facilitates enrollment.
-
Maintains confidential records.
-
Review
applications, determines eligibility, maintains eligible applicant pool and
maintains accurate student application files and records.

Supervision Given and Received
Reports to the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Services.
Indirectly supervises those assisting in projects/receptionist and
student workers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; two years related experience required; knowledge of
basic counseling techniques required; and effective communication and
interpersonal skills required.
