Function of Position
Responsible to the Department of Public Health for overseeing the Coordinated
School Health Evaluation for the State of Tennessee; managing programmatic and
administrative aspects of the evaluation; coordinating with subject matter
expert; providing assignments and managing successful completion of
deliverables; and working with subject matter experts to define and map project
deliverables and timelines.
Essential Functions

Supervises the data collection in each site and the cumulative data
collection for the total evaluation project including information from the pilot
sites and the State Office of Coordinated School Health.

Provides consult to the CSH Coordinators and their associates as needed
throughout the contract period.

Provides information and recommendations to the Director of CSH regarding
the evaluation and any aspect of the total project.

Collects, analyzes, processes and interprets the data.

Provides a written report to the Director and the individual coordinators
based on analysis of the data.

Reports results from the coordinator’s survey for the evaluation of the
State office.

Provides biannual reports to the Director of Coordinated School Health.

Provides a written annual report at the end of the contract year.

Provides requests for expended funds no more than quarterly. (These
expenditures must follow the guidelines as reference in C1 through C11 in the
contract document).

Prepares a written report from the Quarterly Progress/Process reports
provided by the Director and the pilot site coordinators. Based on the data from
2001-2005. Evaluation will be made over a five year period to detect secular
trends and identify significant changes in targeted outcome objectives.

Provides information, support, and assistance as needed to the individual
Coordinators and others in the system sites for the purpose of collecting the
required date.

Travels to Nashville and to the individual pilot sites for the purpose of
providing information to legislators, school administrators or other groups

Develops a software program to collect and manage data from evaluation
outcome objectives. Software to be provided to all pilot site coordinators.

Assists the state director with conferences, meetings, and travel as
needed for the continuity of the evaluation.

Performs under general supervision. Determines own methods of performing

Minimum Qualifications
Required: Master’s degree in Business or Health related field from an accredited
college. Three to five years experience of satisfactory, full-time progressively
responsible management experience requiring independent decision-making
concerning program management or planning, allocation for resources and the
scheduling and assignment of work.
Should be eligible for faculty appointment in a public health discipline.
