The Certified Administrative Professional Certification is recognized as the national standards for secretaries and other administrative professionals.  Examinations are administered twice a year in May and November by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) to any secretary meeting eligibility requirements.

Exam Review Information

  • ETSU employees who work in a clerical-secretarial or clerical-management (non-exempt) position will be granted a nine percent (9%) increase in salary upon successful completion of the CAP exam.
  • Review courses are offered online through the Tennessee Board of Regents Online Continuing Education (ROCE) program to aid in preparing for the certification exams.  The CAP exam includes the three CPS areas plus an Advanced Organizational Management exam.  The review courses provide continuing education credit (CE) and follow the tuition rates set by the Tennessee Board of Regents ROCE program.
