Supervisor Training
ETSU supervisors play an integral role in the success of our university. In addition to a supervisor’s daily professional and/or technical job functions, a supervisor is responsible for managing employees, money, facilities, and the health, safety, and technology needs within their department or work area. To assist both new and current supervisors, an on-line Supervisor Training Program is now available to provide the resources and the contact information that supervisors need to be successful.

Conducting an Effective Interview
One of the primary tools available during the hiring process to determine if applicants have the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience for the job is the interview. If not conducted effectively, the decision process is more difficult, you may not hire the best qualified applicant and you could experience legal challenges. This workshop will explore preparing for and conducting an effective interview, with emphasis on structuring proper interview questions that will avoid claims of discrimination against any of the protected classes and violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amended. ETSU PPP-35, Search Guidelines for Filling Faculty, Administrative and Clerical/Support Vacancies, is the reference for this class.
