DEFINITION

Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in supervising clerical workers and operating alpha-numeric on-line data entry terminal. Performs other duties as assigned.
 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

- Interviews and hires Library Cataloging Clerks.

- Assigns daily typing, filing, card checking, data entry work and similar duties.

- Checks production and progress for accuracy, completeness, uses of procedures, etc.

- Completes work performance evaluations.

- Keeps or compiles production records.

- Operates alpha-numeric on-line data entry terminal.

- Requests supplies or equipment repairs.

- Performs other duties as assigned.
 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

- Typing ability.

- Willingness to work and willingness to work with others.

- Administrative and supervisory ability.

- Verbal comprehension.

- Numerical facility.

- Verbal expression.
 

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. High school graduate or equivalent; type 55 wpm; two years library experience including supervision of clerical employees.
