REGISTRAR LEAD WORKER

DEFINITION

Employees in this class are under general supervision. Work performed in a lead capacity by supervising, coordinating, training and providing back up for positions within the Office of the Registrar and performing other related work as required.
 

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

-Supervises and coordinates daily work assignments of all support staff, temporary, part-time and student personnel.

-Schedules all academic classroom space.

-Collects, compiles and computes statistical data for room assignments.

-Supervises and assists with preparing and keying of class schedule information.

-Operates computer terminal at peak registration.

-Verifies registration eligibility.

-Opens and closes all office cash registers daily.

-Supervises the operation of the Registration Help-Line and walk-in help inquires.

-Assumes overall responsibility of Registration/Records section in the absence of the Assistant/Associate Registrar.

-Provides secretarial support to office personnel.

-Maintains Non-Disclosure of Directory Information List.

-Assists faculty and/or Executive Aides with accessing and printing class rolls through e-print.

-Provides maintenance of student records.

-Performs other work as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

-Knowledge of organizational rules, regulations and procedures.

-Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.

- Knowledge of computers.

-Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

-Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.

- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to work independently.

-Ability to supervise others.

- Ability to train others.

- Ability to multi-task, with attention to detail and accuracy.

 

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants possessing these qualifications have a good probability for success in this class. However, applicants not possessing these qualifications should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully. Graduation from a standard high school, some college preferred; and three years experience in higher education preferred.
