Mission Statement

The Office of Institutional Research is an active participant in the strategic planning and evaluation processes for the University and is the key support unit as an information provider. Its primary functions include

  • conducting analytical studies that provide information to support campus planning and decision-making;

  • coordinating the assessment program and the development of unit assessment plans;

  • preparing reports on the effectiveness and improvement of educational programs and administrative/support services;

  • providing data about the campus and its students and personnel for external agencies, governing boards, program reviews, accreditations, the federal government, and internal constituencies;

  • assisting internal constituencies in the use of computing applications developed by PIR staff.


Many of your questions or information needs may be answered in the Fact Book or the Common Data Set. To access canned reports regarding student enrollment or schedule statistics, go to the Reports menu. However, you may have unique information needs. We encourage you to send requests to any of our staff via e-mail or by telephone at 439-4236.
