CONDUCTING REGIONAL ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSIONS TO UNDERSTAND
CANCER DIFFERENCES BETWEEN BORDERING COUNTIES AND REGIONS

As these maps illustrate, there are some pretty high cancer mortality rates in Appalachia. What is especially interesting are the circled areas - where counties right next to each other have dramatically different mortality rates. This Request for Proposals addresses these differences (as well as differences in specific cancers - to see more maps, click here).

INTENT

  •  Allow communities to share information, develop ideas, and consider actions that may reduce the regional differences.
