Home Ownership and Credit Training Program

Have you ever dreamed of owning a home?

Eastern Eight can help make that dream come true!

The Eastern Eight Community Development Corporation is a regional not-for–profit partnership interested in promoting affordable housing.

Eastern Eight targets eight (8) counties in Northeast Tennessee: Carter, Greene, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington.

Services provided to these counties include homeownership training, housing counseling, and housing development.

Homeownership Training Program

Homeownership Training courses are offered in different counties throughout the year for anyone interested in learning more about the homeownership process. In a group setting, the following issues are taught by lenders, realtors and Eastern Eight staff:

-benefits and risks of homeownership

-mortgage process

-principles of financial management

-how to work with lenders and realtors

-home upkeep and maintenance

Graduates of the program may be eligible to buy a new affordable home and/or receive special financing.

Housing Counseling

A housing counselor will meet individually with you to discuss your situation and provide:

-goal setting

-budget counseling

-credit counseling

-loan information and packaging
