Am I Ready for Microenterprise?
Starting a
Business requires a good idea, entrepreneurial drive, business skills, and
capital. For low income individuals, minorities, and women, access to
entrepreneurship has historically been limited. Microenterprise programs
across the country are making a difference for thousands of entrepreneurs with a
vision of business start-up or expansion. They open doors for very small
businesses by focusing on four critical areas: training; technical assistance;
follow-up assistance; and lending.
Communities with microenterprise programs, such as CAMP, recognize this activity as a valuable economic development strategy to job creation, increased wages, and welfare reform.
