Bob Gardner's TV Appearances

I have been on local TV (WJHL) a handful of times. My motivation was to get publicity for various ETSU events, usually planetarium shows or special classes. The files are rather large (40 to 50 MB) and are in Windows Media Video (wmv) format.

  1. On September 19, 2007 I discussed the 50th anniversary of Sputnik with Josh Smith. Click on the photo to play the video.
This appearance was to publicize an ETSU Planetarium show. A web version of the show is available online: The Space Age Turns 50.
  2. In 2005 I appeared with Josh Smith to discuss the Centennial of Einstein's "miraculous year." This was to advertise a planetarium show for which there is an online version: Albert Einstein - A Centennial Celebration of His Miraculous Year. The video will be posted soon.
  3. In 2003 I appeared with Bob Swanson in connection with the centennial of the Wright Brothers first flight. This was filmed in the ETSU Planetarium and was to advertise a planetarium show. An online version of the show is at: Centennial of the Wright Brother's first flight. A related presentation for use in the classroom is the seminar presentation: The Wright Brothers, Bernoulli, and a Surprise from Upper East Tennessee. The video will be posted soon.
