March Meeting

March 4, 2002 7:30 p.m.

ETSU Math Lab

Items Discussed

• Math Fest:  For those interested, expect to pay $500 per person.  There will be no local funding.

• Recruiting: We need better advertising.  We will bowl again in the Fall since everyone seems to enjoy it.  Jason wants to try to plug MAA over the summer in conjunction with orientation.

• Future Activities:  Jason is working with Dr. Godbole to try to bring a guest speaker once or twice a semester. 

• Our bulletin board needs to be updated.  Joe Johnson has been volunteered for the job.

• We plan to have an MAA-KME joint end of the year social.  We decided a picnic at Rotary Park would be a good idea.  Faculty and other math students invited to picnic, with the possibility of MAA and KME members going to the lake afterwards.

• Everyone should be thinking of ideas for a t-shirt for our chapter.
