GEORGE POOLE'S HOME PAGE

George Poole is Professor of Mathematics at East Tennessee State University where he served as chairman of the Mathematics Department from 1986 through 1999.   He is happily teaching undergraduate and graduate students, working on the Worm Problem of Leo Moser, and continuing his investigation into Gaussian Elimination and Rook's Pivoting. However, his new-found love is teaching math to prospective K-6 elementary teachers, and providing in-service workshops to teachers in surrounding school districts.  During Summer 2007 George will be holding two funded workshops:  One for 4th grade teachers of Kingsport, Sullivan and Washington counties, and one for K-2 teachers of Kingsport. The Eastman Mathletes' program will continue into Summer 2008.
