The Department of Mathematics offers a B.S. degree in mathematics under three tracks: mathematical sciences, statistics, and education. In addition to the general education and college requirements, each track has the requirements given below. The numbers in parentheses represent the old course numbers as they were during Spring 2001.

A minor is not required. A total of 159 hours is required for this program.
Students must complete 4 writing intensive courses, 2 of which are at the 3000/4000 level and 2 of which are in the major. Students must complete 4 oral intensive courses, 2 of which are at the 3000/4000 level and 2 of which are in the major.
Students majoring in other disciplines may wish to complement their programs by completing a minor in mathematics. The program consists of 23 hours of mathematics as follows: 1910 (1110), 1920 (1120), 2010 (2250) are required. The remaining course work must be selected from 2050 (2180), 2110 (2210), 2800, or upper level (junior/senior) courses. The interested student should be advised by the undergraduate mathematics advisor.
