Website Migration to Responsive Template

How can I tell if a PDF has been scanned-in or if it has been created from Microsoft Word or from Adobe Acorbat?

The best way to tell if a PDF has been scanned is to open it and notice the cursor, then try to select some text. If the document has been scanned, it is treated as one large image.

1.

If the file has been scanned

  • It will have a "plus sign" as a cursor
    cross cursor
  • When you select some text in the document and right click, you will see "copy image"

text select with image copy option
2.

If a PDF document was created from a word file, or in Acrobat Pro

  • It will have a normal arrow or vertical bar cursor
  • When you select some text in the document and right click, you will see "copy"
    text select with copy option
