Major Campbell was commissioned as a Transportation Second Lieutenant in May 1996 from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. He holds a BA in History from Temple and an MA in Human Resource Development from Webster University.

Major Campbell's previous assignments include Cargo Transfer Platoon Leader, Transportation Company Executive Officer, Battalion Assistant Operations Officer, Logistics Operations Platoon Leader, Transportation Group Plans Officer, Group Transportation Officer, HHC Company Commander, and Transportation Company Commander.

Prior to his commissioning, Major Campbell served three years and nine months as a Cavalry Scout and at Ft. Knox, KY and Schwienfurt, Germany. Major Campbell is a graduate of the US Army Transportation Officer Basic and Advance Courses, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, PLDC, Company Trainers Course, Air Deployment Planning Course.

Major Campbell is currently an Assistant Professor of Military Science at East Tennessee State University serving as the unit Operations Officer and Military Science 301 Instructor.

His decorations and awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (Third Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (Silver Oak Leaf Cluster), Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (Mobilized), National Defense Medal with Bronze Star, NCO Development Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Drivers Badge.
