Music Mind Games is a fun, challenging approach to learning music theory, rhythms, reading and the meaning and application of musical terms. Each class will be specifically geared to the age and level of the students. Class size is limited in order to allow individual attention. Concepts taught in Music Mind Games build on previously learned material, making this class a good choice year after year and is recommended for students of all instruments, ages and levels. Parents are encouraged to enroll.
Open to students in Book 3 and above, the Flute Choirs provide experience while helping students to develop skills in reading, tuning and balance. Repertoire is geared to the level of the players.
Students have a unique opportunity to be coached in the art of chamber music by professional chamber musician and Flute Force member Wendy Stern. Students in Book 5 and above who have advanced reading and musical skills may register for Chamber Ensemble.
Wendy Stern will coach this class in the basic orchestral repertoire, as well as the special techniques required of an orchestral flutist. This class is an excellent introduction to orchestral playing. Students registering for this class must have completed eighth grade, must be strong, independent readers, and must be in Book 5 or above.
