ETSU Bands to present concert of ‘Beauty and Brawn’

Wind Ensemble

JOHNSON CITY (April 11, 2013) – East Tennessee State University’s Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will present “Beauty and Brawn,” the Ending Spring Bands Concert, on Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the D.P. Culp University Center’s Martha Street Culp Auditorium.

Under the direction of Dr. Christian Zembower, the bands will perform selections that “present the beautiful side of music, or that of brawn and brashness, or a combination of both,” according to the Department of Music.

Selections include “Symphonic Movement” by Václav Nehlýbel, “Psalm for Band” by Vincent Persichetti, “The Hounds of Spring” by Alfred Reed, “Song for Lyndsay” by Andrew Boysen and “Lux Aurumque” by Eric Whitacre.
