JOHNSON CITY (Aug. 12, 2013) – East Tennessee State University students needing to address financial aid issues can now make a “fast pass” appointment to meet one-on-one with a counselor without having to wait in line.
“August is definitely the busiest month of the year for our office as hundreds of students try to get their financial aid matters resolved prior to the start of classes,” said Margaret Miller, ETSU director of financial aid. “We have front-desk staff members who are available to meet with students and parents on a walk-in basis, but during these peaks times there is often a line.
“Our new ‘Fast Pass’ program allows students to avoid that line and to schedule an appointment with a financial aid counselor at a time that is convenient,” she said.
“Fast Pass” appointments can be made online at http://www.etsu.edu/finaid/Fast%20pass.pdf. Once a student has selected an appointment time, he or she will be asked to provide additional information in order to confirm the time.
When arriving for the appointment, the student should check in at the “Fast Pass” table in the hallway and present a photo ID. Those with a “Fast Pass” appointment do not need to get in line to enter the main financial aid office.
A limited number of “Fast Pass” appointments will be available each day.
Miller added that students can complete many financial aid requirements online by logging into their GoldLink accounts as well as their Goldmail email.
Fall classes begin Aug. 24.
