JOHNSON CITY (April 8, 2014) — The Division of Theatre and Dance at East Tennessee State University will present its Spring Dance Concert Thursday-Saturday, April 10-12, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 13, at 2 p.m. in the Bud Frank Theatre.
This year’s concert – directed by ETSU faculty member Cara Harker – is comprised of three dance suites. “(This is . . .) Everything We Got” pays homage to a selection of popular U.S. dance crazes, while “Dawn Chorus” is inspired by the music of Andrew Bird and features songs from his work on the soundtrack to the film, “Norman.” The final piece, “Pictures at an Exhibition,” uses famous paintings as inspiration for dance.
ETSU students participating in the concert are Jonathan Severt, Hannah Tiberi, Eva Alom, Carly Bartelsen, Savannah Bowne, Casey Crawford, Caitlin Gawne, Hannah Hasch, Josh Holley, Katrina Kaldenbach, Aryn King, Lindey Ley, Jessica Vest, Janel Borst, Cecilia Ashlie Dorado, Cheyenne Martin, Jacob Mencini, Kylie Otto, Emily Werner, Brock Cooley, Jeremiah Bales, Elisabeth McMillan, Ben Riggs, Courtney Spencer, Kathryn Patterson, Christian Coger and Chanley Garber.
