SEVIERVILLE – An information meeting regarding a new bachelor of social work (B.S.W.) cohort forming at the East Tennessee State University Sevierville site will be held Tuesday, April 18, at 5 p.m.
Advisors and faculty will be on hand to speak with prospective students about career possibilities in the expanding field of social work. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that the increased demand in social services will spur an average projected employment growth of 19 percent for social workers in a variety of specialty areas.
The new degree completion cohort for the B.S.W. program is designed for the convenience of community college students in the Sevier County region.
Students will attend classes in Sevierville over a two-year period to complete the B.S.W. degree requirements, with classes generally meeting in person one day per week. Selected classes will be offered online. A full-time social work professor is on-site at ETSU at Sevierville.
