A Message from the Dean
Patricia L. Smith, EdD, RN

Nursing is one of the most rewarding careers one can pursue. It not only provides intellectual challenge, flexibility and job security, but as a nurse you have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of people each and every day. At East Tennessee State University (ETSU), the College of Nursing offers:

  • exceptionally strong BSN, MSN, and PhD in Nursing programs;
  • instruction by highly credentialed and caring faculty;
  • clinical experiences in a host of outstanding healthcare facilities;
  • interdisciplinary learning opportunities in rural communities; and
  • practice opportunities in our nationally recognized nurse-managed health centers.

Our graduates consistently excel on licensing and certification exams and they are highly sought after by employers.

If your goal is to become a nurse, further your nursing career, or simply learn more about the nursing profession, I invite you to explore our website. I hope you find the information useful and please let us know how we might better serve you. Remember, if you are interested in nursing education – It’s all here at ETSU!
