Welcome to the Department of Professional Roles/Mental Health Nursing (PMNU). This department is responsible for offering you courses in health professions communication, professional roles and responsibilities, behavioral/mental health nursing, nursing theory, health policy and ethics, and nursing research. This department also collaborates with the Colleges of Business & Technology and Public & Allied Health to offer an online Health Care Management Certificate Program.

The interests of the faculty of this department are diverse and include research, diabetes, incarcerated individuals and nurse transition into the workforce. Several faculty are actively engaged in practice within the college’s faculty practice network and many are very active within professional organizations.
