President's Message
Welcome all
members to a new period in our chapter’s growth. As we approach the
start of the academic year, we reflect on new beginnings for all.
Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International is a dynamic
chapter that has always strived to advance scholarly endeavors in all
areas of professional nursing: practice, education and research.
Embodying scholarly work is the ability to look forward to new
beginnings, innovative ideas, and professional growth by thinking in new
ways. Our new year brings new members, officers, and opportunities to
expand your professional involvement that enriches your knowledge and
advances your thinking.
To paraphrase the
nursing scholars Patricia Benner and Florence Nightingale, nurses
control the environment of healing. Nurses are always thinking about
different problems with which they are presented while they are
delivering care. Therefore, new ideas are plentiful. Sigma Theta Tau
challenges you to harness these ideas, study their impact on care and
use them the change the environment of healing for the betterment of
those served. We sincerely believe in you and your work and welcome you
to join us in our new endeavors.
