The Faculty Practice Network includes the following sites:

• Washington County School-Based Health Centers established 1993
• Hancock County School-Based Health Centers established 1995
• ETSU Student Health Services
nurse-managed since 1997

Students from both undergraduate and graduate nursing programs are integrated into each faculty practice site. Faculty assignments to the clinics range from full-time practice to clinical supervision of student rotations. Faculty and student participation in research projects have included research on smoking cessation in rural populations; outcomes of nurse-managed care; health status of rural women; evidence-based care research; hypertension in the homeless; effects of socio-economic status and gender on rural health indicators and others. The Faculty Practice Network provides a unique and effective setting in which to integrate nursing practice, the education of nursing students and service to the community.
