Undergraduate Program
The mission of the CON at ETSU is to facilitate the health of the community through excellence and innovation in nursing education, leadership, research, scholarship and practice. The undergraduate program includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program that prepares a generalist in nursing with leadership skills, basic research abilities and a holistic health approach to professional nursing. The program includes a focus on the rural community, and offers several interprofessional courses. The BSN degree is the foundation for professional nursing practice. The undergraduate program admits four year traditional students, second-degree students in an accelerated track, dual degree, RN to BSN and LPN to BSN nursing students. The RN to BSN program is available to eligible diploma or associate degree prepared RN’s in pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. The dual degree program is between Walters State Community College and ETSU College of Nursing and will allow students to pursue their nursing education locally on the Sevierville campus. The undergraduate program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) which is part of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). It is also approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing and offers eligible candidates membership in the Epsilon Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, the International Nursing Honor Society. Students are admitted twice a year for traditional students; once a year for RN to BSN’s and second-degree students.
