Adobe Acrobat Writer Forms
Instructional Framework

Workshop style - This is a demonstration and hands-on guided practice for awareness and skill training.

Workshop setup - One computer with the Acrobat Writer program installed per student.  Instructor also requires a computer with the Writer program installed, connected to an LCD projector.

Gain attention – During the workshop introduction, the instructor shows a hand-drawn form and explains that the students will be creating this form as a .pdf document.

Identify objective –The instructor reviews the goals and outline for the workshop.  Explain the objectives in general terms as described in the workshop handout.

Recall prior learning – Remind the students of what they learned in the Acrobat Writer I workshop.  Ask students to remember when they may have seen .pdf forms on the Internet

Presentation – The instructor creates a form from scratch, step-by step.  Beginning with MS Word, the words of the form are entered, leaving space for the drawing of the boxes later.  The boxes are drawn/created in the Acrobat Writer program.

Guided learning – The instructor creates the form step-by-step with the students simultaneously performing the same steps.  Provide further explanation as necessary.

Elicit performance - Encourage students ask questions and to think about how they may use the .pdf forms in their daily jobs.

Provide feedback - Continue answering questions and individually helping students.

Assess performance- Review objectives with students and check comprehension.  Assist as needed.

Enhance retention/transfer –  Encourage the students to start creating forms immediately, so that they will remember what they have learned.  Offer to assist them one-on-one if they have questions or encounter difficulties.
