
Workshop setup - One computer with Internet access per student. Microsoft FrontPage loaded and set-up for use, including sound capability. Instructor requires computer with Microsoft FrontPage (including sound), and a LCD projector.
Gain attention - Before class, the instructor demonstrates/navigates through an existing website that was made with MS FrontPage. This web site should also include examples of the content you plan to explain and teach during the FrontPage courses.
Identify objective - Explain the objectives in general terms as described in the course outine/description.
Recall prior learning - Before hands on learning begins, review the concepts and skills covered in the Introduction to FrontPage class.
Presentation - Using Microsoft FrontPage, begin covering the material outlined in your course description. Don’t forget to survey the audience and review all that is necessary to level the playing field before proceeding with any new material or advanced concepts.
Guided learning – Work with the students individually as necessary as you go through the new material. Follow the course description and ask for student feedback before progressing to new materal.
Elicit performance - Encourage students to create pages, links, and to explore new features in FrontPage. Walk around and suggest new ideas to students as they practice making new web pages.
Provide feedback - Continue making suggestions and helping students on an individual basis. Give the students time to practice these skills.
Assess performance- Review objectives with students and check comprehension. Assist as needed.
Enhance retention/transfer – Show examples of different websites that have been created to the rest of the class. Focus on the positive examples and how this can be used as a teaching tool in and out of the classroom.
