Outlook 2003 Setup

Outlook 2003 is rather easy to set up. You'll just need to know the information to put in when the setup program asks for it. This guide will walk you through the various settings of the setup program.

Welcome to the Outlook 2003 Setup Program

This is the welcome screen that comes up when the setup program starts. Click Next.

Configure Outlook 2003

This confirmation screen makes sure that you really want to set up Outlook 2003. Be sure that the selection is set to Yes and click on Next.

Server Type

The type of server that you'll need to select is Microsoft Exchange Server, then click Next.

Server Name

The name of the server that most people will enter is etsuex1. College of Medicine faculty and staff will need to enter etsuex3. In the username field, type in whatever your username is and press on the Check Names button. At that point, your full name should appear. Click Next.

If you receive an error message at that point, your name is most likely not in the Global Address List. Outlook uses that list to check to see if you have an account. The error will occur if you haven't activated your account or if it's been less than 24 hours since you activated it.

If you haven't activated your account yet, you can go to the Account Activation page to activate it. Your Faculty ID will most likely be your SS# without the dashes.

Finished!

Once everything goes successfully, you can click on Finish and Outlook will be set up.
