Publishing Faculty Web Pages using FTP
Here we'll show you how to upload the web pages that you have created to your faculty web space. The examples shown here use a program called WS-FTP. Other FTP programs should have similar functionality.
Creating a profile
The first thing that we'll do is create a profile in WS-FTP to store important information regarding your web space. This will allow you to enter the information once and be able to access your web space easily.

The screen you see above will usually be the one you see when you start up WS-FTP. One thing that you can do is to click the arrow in the Profile Name box and see if any of the existing profiles have the same Host Name/Address as the one shown. If not, click on the New button and fill in the following information in the specified fields.
Profile Name: You can put anything here. It allows you to find this profile.
Host Name/Address: faculty.etsu.edu
Host Type: Automatically Detect
User ID: etsu\username (put in your username in place of 'username')
Password: Your password
You can also check the "Save Pwd" box so that you don't have to keep entering your password each time you want to access your web space. This is optional. Once you have filled in the information, click on the OK button.
Ok! I'm in!
When you successfully log into your web space, you'll see a screen similar to the one below.

The left window shows files that are on your system. The right window shows the files on the server. A couple of differences that you may notice is that the white box in the top right-hand side of the page will have your username instead of 'churchs'. You might not have all of the folders listed in the right-side window. That's ok.
At this point, you need to know the location of the files that you want to upload. If you don't see the files you want, use the green arrow at the top of the left window to navigate through the system until you find the location of your files. Once you're there, highlight each file that you need to upload, then use the button pointing from left to right in the middle of the screen to upload the files. Once you have uploaded the files, click on the Close button to close your connection to the server. If you need to reconnect to the server, or connect to a different server, click on the Connect button. Otherwise, click on the Exit button if you are done with WS-FTP.
