Publishing Faculty Web Pages using Microsoft Frontpage

Here we'll show you how to use Microsoft Frontpage to create or edit your faculty web pages. This assumes that either you have some existing pages to edit on the server or that you know how to create web pages in Frontpage. If you are not familiar with creating or editing web pages, visit Academic Technology Support to inquire about Workshops dealing with Microsoft Frontpage.

After you open Frontpage, click on the File menu and select "Open Web". You'll see a screen similar to the one below.

FP Open

In the box near the bottom of the screen labeled "Folder name", type in what you see there except you'll need to put in your username in place of 'username'. Then click on the Open button. You should then get a login box similar to the one below.

FP Login

On the Resource: line, 'username' will be replaced with your username. Enter your username in the "User name" box in the same format as above and enter your password in the Password box. You can leave the box labeled "Save this password in your password list" checked if you don't want to have to enter your password each time you edit your web pages. When you're done, click on the OK button.

When you have successfully entered your web space, you should see a screen similar to the one below.

FP Main

If you've been editing your web site, you may have additional folders and files in the "Folder List" pane. At this point you can edit any files that you may have or you can start designing a new page from within Frontpage.
