What are the benefits of the campus agreement?
The campus agreement allows ETSU to obtain current versions of the most popular Microsoft products for all university-owned computers at a fixed, negotiated price.
What software does the campus agreement cover?
The Microsoft Select program includes products not covered by our Microsoft campus agreement. Products covered by the agreement are
Microsoft Windows upgrades
Microsoft Office Professional (including Macintosh versions)
Microsoft FrontPage
Microsoft Visual Development Studio Professional
Microsoft BackOffice client application licenses
How long does this agreement last?
This is an annual agreement and will be renewed in August.
The Student Technology Access Fee (TAF) allocated one-third of the funds. ETSU vice presidents are paying for the other two-thirds, based on their employee FTEs.
Will new Microsoft products be included?
Yes. If Microsoft releases a new version of any software programs in this agreement, we will be eligible to use them.
I have a Macintosh at home and use a PC at work. Can I get Macintosh products for work at home use?
Yes. There are no restrictions that require you to use the same platform.
Should I register my campus agreement products with Microsoft?
No. Microsoft prefers that individuals licensed under the campus agreement do not register their software. Because individuals at educational institutions move so frequently, Microsoft feels that attempting to keep current and up-to-date user information for these customers is unrealistic.
Why would I not want to upgrade to the latest software version?
Be sure to check that your hardware is beyond the minimum specifications required by the software. You can see the minimum specifications at http://www.microsoft.com/products
