The online graduate certificate in Mathematical Modeling in Bioscience will provide those with a traditional background in science, mathematics, or technology the skills and content knowledge needed for work in the high-demand, highly-relevant area of mathematical and computational bioscience.
Five online courses are required for the completion of the certificate. These courses cover the fundamentals of predictive modeling, data mining and visualization, mathematical modeling in biomedicine and the study of complex networks. A student can use the certificate as a stand-alone achievement or to enhance a graduate degree in a related field.
The 15 hours required for the certificate can also be applied towards a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mathematical Sciences. Therefore, these courses can either serve as a bridge to graduate school or employment in research and development in biotechnology.

The following standards and materials are required of all masters and certificate applicants regardless of program.
A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Degrees from non-accredited institutions will be evaluated on an individual basis. A completed application form. One official transcript from every college or university where the applicant has taken courses, except for previous course work at ETSU. Applications will not be considered without all transcripts. A personal essay of 150-300 words, detailing your interests in a graduate program at ETSU. A non-refundable application fee of $35.00($45.00 for international students). An undergraduate GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale *(some programs require a higher GPA).
