The online Nursing Administration Certificate Program provides a formal program of study for master’s-prepared nurses in nursing administration. The Certificate Program provides an individualized experience through which students gain a strong foundation in complex systems, organizational theory, financial management, and leadership practice.
This formal program of study is designed to meet the need for students who already have the Master of Science in Nursing degree without requiring them to complete a second master’s degree.
This online Graduate Certificate program was designed with working professionals in
mind, offering the flexibility and convenience of online coursework and a limited
number of on-campus meetings.

Admission to the program will be based on competitive selection from the pool of applicants who meet the School of Graduate Studies admission requirements from the designated home school. Additional admission requirements for the Nursing Administration Certificate Program include:
A master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program (NLNAC or CCNE);
Eligibility to practice as a Registered Nurse in Tennessee or the state in which clinical
assignments are completed;
Overall MSN GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale;
TOEFL score of at least 600 if native language is not English or equivalent other forms of TOEFL or other exams;
A written document prepared by the applicant that includes a resume, a discussion
of prior professional experience, future career goals, and reasons for pursuing the
Letters of recommendation from at least three persons (a minimum of one academic) familiar with the applicant’s academic and professional background and experience in nursing practice.
