What is a Wimba Classroom?
Wimba Classroom is a web-based synchronous classroom application which allows faculty to engage students from their computer. Audio, video, and presentation tools such as desktop sharing, whiteboards and content displays let this virtual environment act as close to a face to face classroom as possible. Entire classes sessions can be recorded and archived for future viewing.Who Can Use a Wimba Classroom?
Wimba is supported financially by the Online Course Fee, and is available to any online course designated with a 990 section number and 'Web' as the instructional methodWhat do I Need to Access a Wimba Classroom?
Wimba Classrooms are essentially powerful websites, so all you really need is a computer with a strong, consistent internet access. Microphones and webcams help make the Wimba experience more dynamic by allowing audio and video communication, but they are not required.
