How to Apply for Financial Aid
updated May 5, 2008

Students who are applying for financial assistance at the ETSU College of Pharmacy must follow the steps outlined below.  A hyperlink is provided for each step.  Upon completion of each step, you should exit the external website to return to the College of Pharmacy web site.

Step 1FAFSA
Admitted students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The ETSU College of Pharmacy Federal School Code (FAFSA number) is E01254.  You must use this number for us to receive a copy of your Student Aid Report.  Follow this link to complete your application.

Step 2 Federal Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans
Students must choose their own lender and electronically sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) for the Federal Stafford Loan Program directly with their chosen lender.
If a student does not want to complete the application, online, the student may request a paper application.  Failure to provide all information could delay the processing time.

  ** Federal Grad Plus Loans
To borrow funds through the Federal Grad Plus Loan Program, you must have first received your official Award Letter from the ETSU College of Pharmacy Office of Financial Aid.  Your Award Letter must indicate that you are eligible to borrow funds from this program before you may proceed.

  •   You must complete a grad plus application and provide an e-signature

  •   You must also indicate on the promissory note how much you intend to borrow.  You can not borrow more than indicated on your Award Letter; however, you may borrow less.

  •   You also must be credit worthy to receive funds from this program.

  •   A separate Grad Plus Loan Counseling Interview is required.

Step 3 - Entrance Loan Counseling Interview for Stafford and Grad Plus
By federal regulation, before your federal loans can be disbursed, you must complete a one-time entrance loan counseling session.  The counseling session provides information about how to manage your student loans, both during and after college.  To complete this process, follow this link.

Step 4 - Direct Deposit
Your funds may be directly deposited into your checking account!

Click on the link above to print the ETSU Direct Deposit Form. Return the completed form with a voided check attached to the address on the form.

To ensure your funds are processed properly, please allow at least 30 days for the Direct Deposit process to be completed.

If you choose to receive a paper check instead of having your funds electronically deposited to your account, you must pick up your balance of aid check at the Bursar's office on ETSU's main campus.  A photo ID will be required before any funds will be released.  The Bursar’s office is located on the second floor of the Administration Building (Burgin-Dossett Hall), Room 202.
