THE NATURE AND EVOLUTION OF DISKS AROUND HOT STARS Instructions for Contributions to the Proceedings ------------------------------------------------- The proceedings are to be published by the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP) in their conference series. Editors will be Richard Ignace and Kenneth Gayley. The following provides instructions for submission of contributions for the proceedings. * Contributions are due by September 1st * The style file for the ASP and instructions can be found at www.astrosociety.org/pubs/cs/confseries.html Click on the 'Authors Macros' along the lefthand menu. * Page limit reminder: Review Talks - 12 pages Focus Sessions - 12 pages Discussion Sessions - 12 pages Posters - 4 pages * We anticipate having author, object, and subjectindices. To aid in producing these, please adhere to the following. Following the '\end{document}' line of your contribution, use the following format to recommend entries for these indices (best described with examples): AWORD for authors OWORD for objects SWORD for subject key words Example - ... text of latex file ... \end{document} AWORD: Happy, I. B. AWORD: Sleepy, I. M. AWORD: Smart, I. R. OWORD: $\zeta$ Pup OWORD: mega Oph OWORD: NGC 0000 SWORD: nonsense SWORD: Nobel Prize SWORD: imagination, main results SWORD: error analysis, plotting confidence guesses The goal here is to be able to run standard unix stream editing functions to produce more easily the indices, as for example grep AWORD *.tex | awk '{ printf("\\indexentry{") for (i=2;i<=NF;i++) { printf("%s ", $i) } printf("}\n") } ' (Or something like this. Everything runs in unix, if it has enough slashes and such. Just might not be what you want. :) Please limit the number of suggested keywords for the subject index to 5 entries for your contribution. * Finally, when submitting your contribution, please send a single gzipped tar file containing your latex file and eps figures using the following format: Jones_A.tex Jones_A.f1.eps Jones_A.f2.eps ... so that all files begin with the last name, followed by an underscore, followed by a first initial for the lead author. Similar for the eps figure files. Then to create the gzipped tar file, type tar -cvzf Jones_A.tar.gz Jones_A* Email the file Jones_A.tar.gz to hotstars@etsu.edu (NOT to the ignace or to the kgg email, please). * Final Comments: No color figures will be published. Half-tones are acceptable. If you have a color figure that you want to appear as grayscale, you should re-render the figure as grayscale specifically. The ASP warns that for example red and blue in a color figure when printed in black and white appear as the same shade, and yellow is essentially white. Further, avoid referring to figure colors in text body or caption, as this will be confusing. If you have any questions about contributions to the proceedings, feel free to contact the editors at ignace@etsu.edu and/or kgg@astro.physics.uiowa.edu. Thank you. Best Regards, Rico Ignace Ken Gayley
