PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF POWELL OBSERVATORY

The East Tennessee State University Observatory was built by the Powell Building Group. The observatory was dedicated and opened in January 1998 .

Here are some photographs showing the construction of this observatory from the initial ground breaking during the third week of July 1997. Below are the photographs in animated GIF format showing the progress. The series of images currently shown in the animation begin July 12 and run through October 21, 1997.
